This neon work by Maurizio Nannucci is permanently installed at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection.

The message can of course be interpreted in many ways. For me, it suggests this: “By changing where you are, you begin to live at a different tempo of time. Naturally, this leads to shifts in thought — and those changes can in turn reshape the future.”

Neon art, often displayed outdoors, tends to evolve in meaning as its surrounding environment and the flow of time change.

Above all, it fascinates me how each viewer draws something entirely different from it — what we choose to see in the work brings new interpretations each time.

ペギー・グッゲンハイム美術館に常設展示されているマウリツィオ・ナンヌッチのネオンアート。

このメッセージは、読み手によってさまざまな解釈ができるだろう。私には「居る場所を変えることで、異なる時間の速度に生きることになる。すると、自然と考え方も変わり、その変化が未来をも変えていく」──そんな意味に感じられた。

屋外に展示されることが多いネオンアートは、環境や時代の流れとともに、その内包する意味すら変化し続ける。

そして何よりも、観る者が「何をその作品に見いだすのか」によって、まったく異なる解釈が生まれる。その面白さがある。
