“The Lies of Light”

The shadow bends before the man,
carrying shapes his body never learned.
On the paper wall,
silence rearranges itself—
each grid a doorway for a different sound.
Light does not only touch the eyes.
It re-tunes the air.
Hiroshige Utagawa improvised Kageboshizukushi, Pine Tree with a Root Ume Plum and Japanese Bush Warbler
Under bright glass,
sugar you cannot taste
glows sweeter than truth.
The tongue waits for the first bite,
but light has already served
the whole dessert.

In the mirror made of light,
the body multiplies
until it becomes a pattern.
Words appear in the wall’s shadow—
letters stitched from brightness.
Here,
water folds the sky twice:
once for the eye,
once for the memory.

At night,
the moon slips into a round paper window.
Silver on tatami,
it turns the air to silk.
The hand learns softness
from the light alone.
I kept the feeling,
so one day you could touch it too.

In fog,
the lighthouse stands beside you.
In the same fog,
the hills walk a thousand steps away.
Light at the end of a tunnel
is not always near.
It may wait years,
just beyond your hand.
At dusk,
the street remembers being gold.
By nightfall,
it swears it was always silver.
Through glass,
the ocean and the menu
exchange places in my mind.
I drink the memory
before it fades.
